A week of training, interviews and travel adventures...

...and a little friend visiting too!

This was a wonderful district interview!  They sung their lungs out for Sister Hillam.  It was fantastic!

So MLC this month was a little different.  The mission had a very big transfer last week and lots of new leaders were called.  The President had all the new leaders come to Cape Coast for training.  It was great to feel of the excitement and love for the work and their fellow missionaries! Training was done and also a discussion about Integrity.

President trained all the new District Leaders, the Assistants trained the new Zone Leaders and Sister Hillam trained the Sister Trainer Leaders.  It was a time to get everyone up to speed on assignments.

The new leaders of the Mission, October 2017

Our new Sister Trainer Leaders

Interviews were over in the Western Region.  Here is Elders Brown and Kainesie, doing great!

Elders Ball, Solia, Abel and Apelu are doing well.  Elder Ball and Abel are almost finished with their training!  Yipee.  Training a new missionary is the most important assignment in the mission!

Elder Solia under serious consideration of?...  Yes where he is going to GC next! (have a gospel conversation)

Here we are in Tarkwa and believe it or not, it is pouring rain!

Our Elders in Tarkwa are doing fantastic.  They have much trust placed in them being far from Cape Coast.  This is a Chop Bar and lunch for all.  Thanks Elders Konan, Wilhelm, Bingham, Bills, Wendel and Abara.

Our Missionaries in Tararadi are doing well.  The Zone is working hard.  There are  25 missionaries serving in this zone.  These are a few of them.  Love them all.

We were able to attend the baptism of this 10 year old boy while in Takoradi.   Loved how the Presiding  authority encouraged all the members to help support and encourage their new member.  A future missionary!

So off to the farthest point of the mission, Nkroful.  It was pouring rain.   The most rain us Idaho people have seen and yet we are told we are moving into the dry season?   We held fast and testimony meeting in the dark, with added thunder and how hard it was coming down,  you could not hear the speaker!   It was quite the experience  -  awesome! The spirit was still there is rich abundance.

Nkroful is doing well and Elders Omoregie and Hamilton are working hard.

We had to have a picture of the cool school bell  at the school house where the Esiama group meets.  There were big rain puddles around everywhere but the saints were waiting for us to arrive and greet them.  So very sweet and kind.

Elders Addi and Nielson are doing great in Esiama!

Last stop on this weeks interviews was back to Takardi to meet with our Sister Trainer Leaders!  Yes, a 3 some of Leaders.  They are fantastic Sisters and like them and the rest of our missionaries--- we love them to piece!

Transfer Week at Ola chapel and it ...Continues...to our going home group.

This transfer saw most of the mission on the move.  What excitement and fun as the missionaries met at the Ola Chapel and left for new area's and new companions.

As the day moves along, some of the missionaries returning home are being interviewed at the Ola Chapel and then the rest of the group will  have their final interview at the Mission Home where we will all be together for Final Fofo, instruction from President Hillam and a final testimony meeting.

Thank you so much Elders for your help with the casava and plantain.  You were all pro's at it!

Our departing missionaries!

President Hillam gives a few last instructions and counsel as to what lies before these missionaries.   So many wonderful times and challenges for them and they can go forward with faith and knowing they can do hard things!

Final Fufu

Two of our Missionaries had to leave by 6 am to catch flights at noon from Accra.  Not much sleep for them!

A very fast breakfast before the trip to Accra.

21 Missionaries left today.  We love each of them!

We were passing a toll booth at the same time the bus was!  The trip was just about 3 hours long which is very good. That means time to walk around the temple and grounds before lunch and the temple session.

These Elders found their MTC teacher.  Just think what it was like 2 years ago!

Grabbing a quick lunch at KFC before heading to the airport.

Accra Airport- 5 p.m.

Best of Luck Elders and Sisters!  We love you and will miss you! Thank you for all you have done to help so many come unto Christ!
Remember Who You Are and What You Stand For...

Transfer Week September 25, 2017

Our 22 new missionaries arrived pretty close to Ghanaian time! They arrived in an air conditioned bus and we loved the opportunity to shake hands and greet each one of them.  We are pretty sure they were as excited as us to have them finally here!

President Hillam loved the chance to finally meet everyone in person and just not pictures on a computer screen!

After meeting everyone the van was unloaded.  It is amazing how fast this happens with lots of Elders!

September 2017 Ghana Cape Coast Missionaries! Welcome to the best Mission!

First is Lunch!  We figure that it is best to get the stomach full and then start the training.

Away we go with the introduction of the Mission!

We are so grateful for the Assistants and we welcome Elder Smith as our new Assistant.  These Elders helped teach and conduct the entire training program.  Fantastic job!

The night was really singing with frogs and yet they were not too big...but they made lots of noise.

Here is President and Elder Young making the assignments of area's and companions to all the new missionaries.  Words cannot express the excitement and anxiety in the room when this is done!
